Outreach Ministries

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. (I Peter 4:10)

Worship Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to coordinate the events of the worship services to glorify the Lord.

The worship ministry consists of 3 different areas of responsibility:

    1. Worship

    2. Music/Praise Team

    3. Multi-Media/Sound System

Each of these areas work together to bring the meaning, the expression, and the reason for worship.

Give to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come before Him. Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! (I Chronicles 16:29)

Baptistry Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to assist in baptisms and care for the baptistry.

The baptistry ministry consists of 2 different areas of responsibility:

    1. Maintenance of the baptistry including that is is clean and all necessary chemicals are added

    2. Assistance with baptism preparation.

Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38)

Prayer Ministry

The purpose of the prayer ministry is to provide a network of both physical and spiritual needs:

    1. Personal needs or for friends and loved ones

    2. Church needs

    3. Worldly needs

    4. Health and illness needs

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6)

Greeters Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to greet people at the vestibule door as they enter the church building and make them feel welcome.

Responsibilities include:

    1. Welcoming people as they enter the church building

    2. Handing out bulletins

    3. Assist visitors with seating and providing welcome packets

    4. Collect visitors cards for follow-up.

Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God. (Romans 15:7)

Youth Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to teach and train the children in the ways of the Lord.

Responsibilities include:

    1. Teaching the children

    2. Reach out to the parents to bring their children to services and other events

    3. Use teaching materials that are easy for the children to understand and is approved.

    4. Coordinate activities/outings for the children

People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. (Mark 10:13-16)

Boxes & Bears Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to show tender loving care to children at a time of sorrow, illness, or hardship.

2 Components of this ministry include:

    1. Preparing Sunshine boxes for children under the age of 9

    2. Making stuffed animal bears to be distributed to hospitals, nursing homes, or wherever needed

Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. (Mark 10:14)

Homebound Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to visit people who are homebound and provide small services for them.

Responsibilities include:

    1. Visit shut-ins

    2. Offer small services

    3. Call on someone who has been bereaved

    4. Companionship to elderly through visits, telephone calls, and cards

    5. Household chores for the unable

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (Galatians 6:10)

Food Pantry Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to provide food baskets for the needy (unemployed, low income, hardship, or emergencies.)

Responsibilities include:

    1. Informing congregation of items needed for the food pantry

    2. Stock and keep an inventory of collected items

    3. Prepare and distribute food boxes

Funeral Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to serve dinners for funerals.

Responsibilities include:

    1. Contact person is responsible for scheduling dinners at the fellowship hall

    2. Organize & serve dinners for all funerals

    3. Ensure that the fellowship hall is ready for the dinner

Rest Home Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to show love to rest home residents.

Responsibilities include:

    1. Prepare small gifts for those in rest homes

    2. Visit those in rest homes to show an expression of love and care

    3. Send cards to rest home residents for birthdays, thinking of you, etc.

    4. Inform congregation of needs

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. (James 1:27)

Correspondence Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to keep in touch with members of the congregation currently away from the area (college students, military, etc.).

Responsibilities include:

    1. Send cards, letters, and/or care packages to show love & concern

    2. Reach out to military personnel, college students & prisoners

    3. Prepare flyers and posters for revival & Sunday School events

Fellowship Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to gather together to edify one another. This ministry involves all of the activities and events that take place at the fellowship hall.

Responsibilities include 2 areas that operate independently of each other:

Fellowship Dinners & Supplies:

    1. Coordinate all dinners & organize people for meal preparation

    2. Keeping supplies on hand at all times

    3. Schedule clean up days

Scheduling of Events:

    1. Serve as the contact for scheduling

    2. Mark all events on the calendar posted at the fellowship hall

    3. Ensure hall is opened & closed for every event

    4. Ensure garbage removal is done

    5. Ensure that a member of the congregation is present during the event

Flowers Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to ensure any & all floral needs are met.

Responsibilities include:

    1. Keeping the church building looking fresh with the use of floral arrangements

    2. Ordering flowers for Christmas, Easter, & other special occasions

    3. Ordering flowers, on behalf of the congregation, for the death of a member's loved one

Library Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to provide resources for the "Good of the Cause" to all who want to become better servants by studying and sharing God's Word.

God expects us to:

  • Grow: II Peter 3:18

  • Go: Matthew 28:19

  • Glow: Luke 8:16

  • Sow: Hosea 10:12

  • Show: Psalm 92:1-2

  • Know: John 7:17

Responsibilities include:

    1. Card all new books, CD's etc.

    2. Check for & notify those whose books are overdue

    3. Help compose Library Page Newsletter

    4. Choose monthly items to be featured

    5. Be on lookout for new materials for the Elders to approve

    6. Keep resource room & all resources organized

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. (II Timothy 2:15)

Small Jobs Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to ensure the maintenance of all church property.

Responsibilities include:

    1. Coordinating various work days/nights for general maintenance around the church property

    2. Taking care of minor maintenance needs

    3. Opening & Closing of church building during service times
